Music Appreciation Series: Shauncey Ali Quartet

  • Stoughton Opera House 381 E. Main St. Stoughton, WI 53589 (map)

The Shauncey Ali Quartet captivates audiences with evocative melodies and daring arrangements that straddle the intersection of tradition and innovation by blending bluegrass, Celtic and Nordic fiddle styles with sensibilities influenced by pop, rock and classical music.

Featuring Nicholas Vanhaute (mandolin), Hans Holzen (acoustic and electric guitar), and David Havas (upright bass), the ensemble challenges listeners with an experience that is virtuosic yet accessible, rooted in tradition yet unbound by convention.

Shauncey’s debut fiddle album, the Blue Hour, will be released in summer of 2026.  This collection of original material heavily features the quartet, plus guest musicians including Andy Hall (dobro) of the Infamous Stringdusters, Lucas Pool (banjo), Elias Alexander (electronic beats), Scott Beardsley (drums) and Aaron Konkol (piano).
