Music Appreciation Series--An Hour with Steve Meisner & Ted Ceplina

  • Stoughton Opera House 381 E. Main St. Stoughton, WI 53589 (map)

Music Appreciation Series:

A dazzling array of musical talents will be showcased throughout the season during these hour-long programs, organized by John Beutel and sponsored by the Stoughton Area Senior Center. All Music Appreciation events are free and open to the public.

A multi-talented musician, composer, and producer, Steve Meisner is a legend among the polka aficionados. Learning from his father the legendary Verne Meisner, Steve has continued the tradition and brought polka music to the next generation. The virtuosity of his accordion playing is sure to keep the ears delighted and dancers flying across the dance floor. Thanks to a generous grant via the Wisconsin Arts Board Folk Arts Apprenticeship, Ted Ceplina has been able to study and learn the art of history of polka music from Steve. This hour long concert will feature a selection of favorites learned so far.
